GEM EUROPE - HYDROELECTRICITY IN SUPPORTING THE USE OF INTERMITTENT SOURCES OF RENEWABLE ENERGY

Description

The Green Energy Management community (scientists, students, profes- sionals, believers in a better future) is proud to announce GEM Europa 2019, the Portuguese edition. GEM Europa 2019 will provide internatio- nal students with a context sensitive first class training in the field of Green Energy Management and renewable resources. In the past edi- tions, GEM has hosted students from 13 different countries. GEM Europa 2019 will be hosted by University of Porto (Faculty of Econo- mics) and APEEN (Portuguese Association of Energy Economics). Hydroe- lectricity In supporting the use of intermittent sources of renewable ener- gy in Portugal, renewable energy production, as well as water manage- ment and recycling in agriculture, will be discussed in the context of cir- cular economy, with a particular focus on climate change and environ- mental issues. After a general overview of the world green energy scena- rio, GEM will focus on Europe, which is nowadays the leading actor in projects and a green view of the future . Elements of Energy Finance, for electricity markets and energy projects, will be given. International lea- ding scientists and industrial and institutional partners will be part of the teaching staff, bringing and sharing their field experience. A special cor- ner will be dedicated to up to date research of young PhD students and Postdocs. GEM Europa 2019 provides the ideal space for gathering and sharing common experiences, for a world sustainable future and for the upbringing of young and brilliant minds.

Priority will be given to students participants holding a Master degree, but application by master students is encouraged and will be evaluated on the basis of the applicant motivation and background.
