GEM - SILKWAY CENTRAL ASIA EDITION

SILKWAY

Description

The GEM (Green Energy Management)-SILKWAY (the former GEM) 2023 Summer school is at its 10th year. GEM- SILKWAY is an International project, now involving more than 17 partners all over the world.

In process of energy transition, reflections on issues of public concern that affect cultures and societies at the global level are needed. The aim of GEM-SILKWAY CENTRA ASIA is to adopt a cross-cultural perspective in analysing the meaning of concepts like sustainability and human development.

Energy transition has become a hot issue, which is debated at the global level from different perspectives, that is from geographic, cultural, scientific, social, economic, and technological ones. The Summer School is thus aimed at bringing together experts in different fields - such as academics, professionals, and institutional representatives – with the interest in opening a productive interdisciplinary and intercultural dialogue on questions of common concern. In particular, the Summer School will be focused on the transformation of geopolitics in relation to energy crises, starting from the ongoing changes occurred in Central Asian area. Students will thus benefit of lectures, debates with international scholars and students, cultural activities, and visits in place of interest.

Representatives of Italian industries operating in Central Asia and Kazakhstan’s energy companies (KAZENERGY, KazMunayGas) will participate, giving their contribution to the discussion.
